Gary A. Kozma

Gary A. Kozma has the experience of representing thousands of people with a variety of legal needs. Gary began practicing law in Detroit, Michigan nearly forty years ago. Even before graduation, Gary was representing people in need after he was elected by his fellow students to chair the Free Legal Aid Clinic. During his time in Detroit, Gary worked as a trial lawyer representing injured and disabled people. He represented over 100 women in multi-million dollar litigation involving the defective Dalkon Shield intrauterine device which helped to remove the product from the market.

He also spearheaded class action litigation against the City of Detroit resulting in significant changes to its unconstitutional arrest policies. Nearly twenty years ago, Gary relocated to northern Michigan and continued to represent people in need, handling significant personal injury and civil rights cases. Over the years, Gary has worked in countless courts and administrative tribunals, with multiple appearances before the Michigan Supreme Court, Court of Appeals, and the U. S. Sixth  Circuit Court of Appeals. Gary continues to work on a variety of legal matters, always on the side of people. His work includes worker’s compensation and social security disability cases.
